Project

Bethel Prayer Center Kinanie

A house of prayer for all nations in Kinanie Village, Machakos County, Kenya.

Published September 15, 2026

An interdenominational sanctuary providing a permanent, functional space for prayer, teaching, and spiritual retreat for the wider Body of Christ.

Location

Kinanie Village, Athi River Sub-County, Machakos County, Kenya.

Status

Land secured; chapel construction underway. Target date: September 2026.

Budget goal

KES 50,000,000 (fifty million Kenyan shillings).

Implemented and overseen by Upper Room Ministries, Kitale.

Why this house of prayer

An informal prayer gathering rapidly outgrew the founder's living room. Believers consistently gathered seeking prayer, encouragement, and spiritual covering, but the private residence was neither designed nor sufficient for the growing numbers.

Despite rapid population growth in Athi River and Machakos County, there is no functional, dedicated, interdenominational prayer infrastructure. The community is hungry for corporate prayer but lacks a central, neutral place to host it.

Vision

To establish a permanent, functional, and welcoming house of prayer in Kinanie Village that serves the entire Body of Christ, irrespective of denomination.

  • Corporate prayer — consistent prayer programs and intercession.
  • Teaching — structured spiritual growth and biblical instruction.
  • Fellowship — unifying believers across denominational lines.
  • Outreach and retreat — a sanctuary for individuals, families, and church groups to withdraw and seek God.
